Join the team!

When can you join?

SFCS typically recruits new members at the start of the New Zealand university trimesters around the end of February and beginning of July. We do consider applications for people who would like to join part way through the year but members may not be able to join a project or working group straight away if doing so.

Where can you join from?

SFCS is predominantly Wellington based and almost all events, meetings and workshops are hosted in Wellington. Despite this, we are always happy for members to join from across Aotearoa New Zealand and internationally. We are currently looking to build a small group in Auckland, so please reach out if you are interested.

When applying please note whether you are based in Wellington, are interested in joining a group in Auckland or are interested in remote work.

Who can join?

SFCS is open to all students at a tertiary level (including postgraduate study such as Masters and PhD) or any young person under the age of 35.

We note that only tertiary students may sit on the executive, although non-student members may still attend executive meetings and have full voting rights at general meetings. Valid Student ID may be required if you are applying to join the executive.

Where can I find more information about SFCS's work?

SFCS publishes our work on the website and on our social media including LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram. Please check out the projects page for more information about our current work and write in the comments section on the registration form if you are particularly interested in joining a certain project.
